The Purple Pen Podcast - named for the pen colour of choice for hospital pharmacists - is a podcast produced for, but not limited to, pharmacists and health professionals.  With a plethora of content available online, our podcast aims to update listeners on the latest evidence as each episode takes a deep-dive into a specialist subject via long-form interviews with leading experts. The podcast provides a platform for these exceptional Australian clinicians to share their knowledge.  The result is a podcast enjoyed by thousands of people across the world since 2016.  Purple Pen Podcast is fully independent, being run and produced by Kristin and Natalie - both leaders in Australian clinical pharmacy - in their spare time, with topics that are often the result of suggestions by its active subscriber base.  Operating in this manner, the Purple Pen remains relevant and without bias.

Kristin Xenos is a senior project officer working at the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, working with the AURA (Antimicrobial Use and Resistance in Australian) and IPC/HAI (Infection Prevention & Control)/(Healthcare Associated Infection) team. She recently worked as the Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist for Western Sydney Local Health District. Her professional interests include antimicrobial stewardship, public health and equity in healthcare.

Natalie Tasker is Deputy Director of Pharmacy at Children’s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Whilst she has spent the majority of her career working in paediatric hospital pharmacy, an 18 month stint working as an Assistant Director with the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) at the Federal Department of Health, sparked an interest in health technology assessment and pharmacoeconomics. Her other key interest areas include paediatrics, solid organ transplantation, evidence informed medicine and the role of clinical pharmacy services in improving medication safety.
